NTPC declares commercial operation of 62.5 MW Rajasthan solar capacity

NTPC Limited has commissioned two solar project tranches in Rajasthan with a combined capacity of 62.5 MW, according to a stock exchange filing. Both projects are held by step-down subsidiaries of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture in which NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, holds a stake.

Both capacities went live at 00:00 hours on May 15, 2026.

A 12.5 MW tranche under the 150 MW solar project owned by Project Eleven Renewable Power Private Limited brings that project’s cumulative commissioned capacity to 100 MW. A 50 MW tranche under the 300 MW solar project owned by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited takes its cumulative commissioned capacity to 200 MW.

With these additions, NTPC Group’s total installed capacity rises to 89,868 MW and its commercial capacity to 88,788 MW. NGEL’s group commercial capacity, currently at 10,453.90 MW, will increase to 10,516.40 MW following the commissioning.

Earlier this month, NTPC declared commercial operation of 100 MW from its solar photovoltaic project at Ramagundam in Telangana with effect from 00:00 hours on May 2, 2026.
