Author: PPD Team Date: 01/05/2025

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Honeywell UOP India Private Limited to explore the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The project will use captured carbon dioxide and green hydrogen as feedstock.

Both companies will carry out a joint feasibility study using Honeywell’s proprietary eFining technology. The study will assess the technical and commercial viability of SAF production at NTPC’s planned Green Hydrogen Hub in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh.

The Pudimadaka hub spans 1,200 acres and is being developed as an integrated centre for green chemicals, sustainable fuels, and low-carbon manufacturing.

Honeywell brings technical expertise in SAF production, while NTPC contributes its renewable energy experience.

SAF is seen as essential for reducing carbon emissions in the aviation sector. This collaboration supports India’s strategy to lead in low-emission technologies and green fuel development.
