NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL) and Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) have incorporated a joint venture company named “NIRL Assam Renewables Limited” to develop renewable energy (RE) projects in Assam.
NIRL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, will hold a 51% equity stake in the JV, while APDCL will hold 49%.
The joint venture will be responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of RE power projects across Assam. This move follows the agreement signed earlier in January 2025, under which both companies committed to jointly develop 1,000 MW of solar power capacity in the state.
The JV is part of efforts to expand solar infrastructure and support Assam’s energy transition goals.
