NLC India Renewables (NIRL), a subsidiary of NLC India, has partnered with Assam Power Distribution Company (APDCL) to form a joint venture for developing 1,000 MW of solar power projects in Assam.
NIRL will hold a 51% stake in the venture and contribute its renewable energy expertise, while APDCL will handle land acquisition, regulatory approvals, and power evacuation infrastructure.
The partnership includes a 25-year power purchase agreement with Assam distribution companies to supply the entire generated power.
NIRL Chairman Prasanna Kumar Motupalli emphasized its role in meeting the state’s growing energy demand and advancing its renewable energy goals.
