NGEL crosses 10 GW with full commissioning of Khavda-I

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has crossed 10 GW of installed capacity following the full commissioning of the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar Photovoltaic Project in Gujarat. The milestone was achieved after its step-down subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), declared commercial operation of the final tranche on March 31, 2026.
The last tranche at Khavda-I comprised 78.02 MW, marking the twelfth and final part capacity, effective 00:00 hours on March 31, 2026. On the same date, NTPC REL also declared commercial operation of 90 MW, the sixth part capacity, at the 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat.
Separately, effective April 2, 2026, Ayana Renewable Power Four Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of the ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited joint venture, is scheduled to declare commercial operation of 37.5 MW solar capacity out of a 150 MW project and 13.2 MW wind capacity out of a 92.4 MW wind component of a 100 MW hybrid project at the same location.
With these additions, NGEL’s total installed capacity has reached 10,126.40 MW. At the NTPC Limited group level, installed capacity stands at 89,057 MW, while commercial capacity is 87,977 MW.
