The New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) Minister Pralhad Joshi has launched a call for proposals for pilot projects that aim to produce green hydrogen from biomass and waste materials. The government has set aside Rs 1 billion for these projects, in addition to Rs 1 billion already assigned to start-up initiatives under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council will run the programme and invite participation from industry, start-ups, and research institutions.
At the 3rd International Conference on Green Hydrogen held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the Minister said the National Green Hydrogen Mission is supporting India’s move towards clean energy while helping create jobs and draw investment.
