Author: PPD Team Date: February 10, 2026

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar photovoltaic modules, adding new manufacturers and expanding approved manufacturing capacity by around 17 GW. Following the revision, total enlisted solar module manufacturing capacity in India stands at about 162 GW.

The revised list includes eight additional solar module manufacturers, covering both new entrants and existing players that have commissioned new or expanded production lines. New entrants include KRG Power Solar from Tamil Nadu and Sun 2 Earth from Gujarat. Capacity additions have also been reported by RenewSys India through its Maharashtra unit, SAEL Solar via its Rajasthan unit, Premier Energies Global Environmental Pvt Ltd in Andhra Pradesh, Sunbond Energy, and Grew Energy.

Pahal Solar has expanded its solar module manufacturing capacity to 3 GW across two facilities after securing approval under ALMM and certification under BIS 2023 standards. The company said the expanded capacity was included in the ALMM list (R-72015008), enabling it to supply modules for government-backed and large-scale solar projects. Pahal Solar added that the expansion supports production of high-efficiency modules and strengthens its ability to meet rising domestic demand for ALMM-compliant equipment, including for programmes such as the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

Several manufacturers have also added new module models to the approved list. These include Unique Sun Power, Sunify Solar LLP, Mundra (Adani) Solar, Surya International, and Emmvee Energy Pvt Ltd.
