MNRE adds Avaada, expands Fujiyama capacity under ALMM List-II
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued the eighth revision of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for solar photovoltaic (PV) cells, adding Avaada Electro Limited as a new manufacturer and approving additional capacity for Fujiyama Power Systems Ltd.
The latest revision, issued on July 22, 2026, reflects the continued expansion of India’s domestic solar cell manufacturing ecosystem as companies commission new facilities and scale production to meet rising demand following the implementation of ALMM List-II.
New entrant
Avaada Electro Limited has been included in ALMM List-II for its solar cell manufacturing facility at Nagpur, Maharashtra, with an approved annual manufacturing capacity of 610 MW.
The company has received approval for N-type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) solar cells in both G12 half-cut and full-cell configurations. The approved products have average efficiencies of 25.63% and 25.57%, respectively, while the efficiency range listed for the products is between 24.50% and 26.30%.
Avaada’s inclusion marks its entry into India’s approved domestic solar cell manufacturing base at a time when N-type technologies are witnessing increasing adoption across utility-scale and commercial projects owing to their higher efficiencies and performance characteristics.
Capacity addition
The latest revision also records a capacity expansion for Fujiyama Power Systems Ltd. The company’s manufacturing facility at Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, has received approval for an additional 1,077 MW of bifacial mono-crystalline silicon Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell (PERC) solar cell manufacturing capacity. The approved cells have an average efficiency of 23.13%.
With the latest addition, Fujiyama further expands its presence in the domestic solar manufacturing sector, reflecting continued investments by existing manufacturers alongside the entry of new players.
The latest revision comes amid growing demand for domestically manufactured solar cells across utility-scale and rooftop markets, supported by government procurement requirements and domestic sourcing provisions.
The addition of Avaada Electro and the expansion of Fujiyama’s manufacturing capacity further broaden India’s approved solar cell manufacturing base as the country continues to scale domestic production capabilities.
