MEIL secures EPC contract for 120 MW Rokhia power project

Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) has received a Notification of Award (NoA) worth Rs 11,913.01 million for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package of the 120 MW Combined Cycle Gas Rokhia Power Plant.
The contract is part of the Tripura Power Distribution Strengthening and Generation Efficiency Improvement Project. Bids for the project were invited by Tripura Power Generation Limited (TPGL) in March 2023.
The work is scheduled to be completed within 36 months.
The project is being implemented by Tripura Power Generation Limited (TPGL) and Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL). It aims to improve power quality, efficiency, and the financial sustainability of the electricity sector in Tripura.
It also includes the renovation and modernization of the Gomati Hydel Power Project and the replacement of the existing 63 MW Open Cycle Gas Rokhia Power Plant with the new 120 MW Combined Cycle Gas Power Plant. The project is expected to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions through fuel savings.
