With this addition, MEIL’s total power generation capacity now exceeds 5.2 GW. The company said the newly acquired asset will be integrated into its energy portfolio with a focus on operational efficiency and disciplined management to ensure long-term value creation.

Salil Kumar Mishra, Chief Financial Officer of MEIL Group, said the acquisition marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to combine engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) expertise with ownership of key energy assets. He added that MEIL will continue to expand across the energy sector through investments that enhance national energy security, ensure a reliable supply, and support India’s long-term growth. The company aims to maintain a balanced generation mix across thermal, hydro, and renewable sources.
