L&T Begins Structural Material Dispatch for Adani's 2,400 MW Pirpainti Plant

L&T Energy–CarbonLite Solutions has flagged off the dispatch of the primary structure for Unit 1 of the 3×800 MW Pirpainti Ultra-Supercritical Thermal Power Project in Bhagalpur, Bihar, from a vendor’s manufacturing facility in West Bengal.

The company said dispatch of the primary structural materials has commenced in line with the agreed best-efforts schedule, marking the start of the structural material supply phase for the project.

L&T is executing the boiler, turbine and generator (BTG) package for Adani Power Limited’s 3×800 MW Pirpainti project. The company is also executing BTG packages for Adani’s overall 8×800 MW thermal power programme.

The Pirpainti project is being developed at Pirpainti block in Bhagalpur district across the villages of Simatpur, Mariakol, Mundwa urf Tundwa, Sundarpur, Mayanagar, Pirpainti and Raipur. The project will be built on 479 hectares of land allotted by Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited and will comprise three 800 MW ultra-supercritical generating units.

In March 2026, the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) for Thermal Projects recommended environmental clearance for the 2,400 MW project.
