Laser Power and Infra Ltd has announced three new project mandates worth Rs 836 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The orders were placed by NTPC and two state discoms and will support system strengthening and loss reduction efforts in Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Rajasthan.

The largest mandate comes from Kanpur Electricity Supply Company in Uttar Pradesh, valued at Rs 422.11 crore. The company will supply its own distribution cables and conductors and carry out full erection and commissioning.

NTPC has awarded a Rs 212.06 crore project covering the Udhampur and Reasi circles in Jammu and Kashmir. The work focuses on reducing distribution losses and will use high and low tension cables, aerial-bunched cables, and overhead conductors manufactured by the company.

Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam in Rajasthan has placed a Rs 202.13 crore order for feeder segregation and related network development. Laser Power will anchor the project with its own distribution conductors and cabling systems.

A key element of all three contracts is the company’s integrated model. A major part of the project value comes from the supply of its in house manufactured components. The EPC execution gives the company control across manufacturing, supply, and on ground implementation.

Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Goel said the integrated structure supports cost optimisation, supply chain security, and reliable delivery. He noted that the bulk of the value in these projects lies in the company’s own cables and conductors produced at its West Bengal facilities.
