LAPP expands Bhopal facility into its largest global manufacturing plant
LAPP has inaugurated an expansion of its manufacturing facility in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, converting LAPP Cable Works Bhopal into the largest manufacturing facility in its global production network. The expansion includes a new facility for low voltage (LV) power cable manufacturing, which became fully operational on August 27, 2026.
Construction of the new unit began in 2025. The cables produced at the expanded facility are used in electrical infrastructure for factories, commercial buildings, transportation systems, renewable energy installations, utility projects and other industrial applications.
The investment comes as infrastructure, manufacturing and energy investments in India drive demand for LV power cable solutions. Infrastructure investments across the country are estimated to reach approximately Rs 24 lakh crore over the current and next financial year, while renewable energy capacity additions are projected at 50-55 GW annually.

We deeply believe in India as a strategic core market for LAPP in Asia and Madhya Pradesh as a manufacturing location”, said Matthias Lapp, CEO of LAPP Group.
LAPP has expanded its Bhopal manufacturing operations since the facility opened in 2012. Production has developed from single-core cables to multicore cables and solar cables, alongside compounding capabilities and E-Beam technology.
The facility now provides more than 200 quality manufacturing jobs and houses some of LAPP Group’s most advanced manufacturing technologies worldwide. Its capabilities include in-house development and production of advanced polymer blends, giving the company greater control over cable quality, consistency and performance.
