KPI Green Energy Limited has terminated the Letter of Award (LoA) it received from Sai Bandhan Infinium Private Limited for developing a 66.2 MW wind-solar hybrid power project. The decision was made due to changes in technical requirements after the LoA was issued.
The LoA was awarded in September 2024. The project was to be developed under the Captive Power Producer (CPP) segment and completed in tranches by July 2025.
In the CPP model, KPI Green develops, operates, and maintains grid-connected solar projects for commercial and industrial users. The company transfers ownership of these projects to customers for self-consumption. KPI also provides turnkey solutions, allowing customers to use shared grid-connected land and existing transmission infrastructure to evacuate power to the nearest Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) substation.
Sai Bandhan Infinium, now operating as Sai Infinium, is based in Alang, Gujarat. It is a green ship recycling firm and also operates an integrated steel manufacturing plant in Bhavnagar.
