KPI Green Energy Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop renewable energy projects with a proposed investment of around Rs 4,000 crore. The MoU was signed on January 12, 2026, in Rajkot.
Under the agreement, KPI Green plans to develop renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of about 855 MW. The portfolio includes solar power projects and Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid projects. The identified locations for these developments are Devbhumi Dwarka and Kutch (Bhuj).
The proposed portfolio includes a 200 MW (DC) solar power project under the Distributed Renewable Energy Banking Policy (DREBP) and captive user schemes, a 405 MW solar power project, and 250 MW of ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid projects. The hybrid capacity is proposed to be developed in two parts of 100 MW and 150 MW.
According to the company, the projects are expected to generate around 4,000 jobs. Development and commissioning will be undertaken in phases and will depend on obtaining the required statutory approvals and clearances. The Gujarat government has indicated that it will support the group in securing necessary permissions from relevant state authorities in line with applicable policies and regulations.
The MoU is aligned with Gujarat’s broader efforts to expand clean energy capacity and support sustainable development across the state.
