KPI Green Energy Limited informed on January 29, 2026, that it has started power generation and supply from a 200 MW AC (240 MW DC) solar power project in Gujarat. The project was awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) through a competitive bidding process and is among the first projects to be commissioned within the 1.8 GW Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) Solar Park (South Block) at Khavda.

The project is operating under a long term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with GUVNL as the off taker. Following grid synchronization, the plant has begun injecting electricity into the state grid. The company said the commencement of supply is expected to support stable cash flows, backed by the contracted tariff under the PPA.

The solar project is located in the Khavda region, which was selected due to its high solar irradiation of 2,060 kWh per square metre and more than 300 sunny days each year. According to the company, these conditions help maximise generation. KPI Green Energy stated that the project incorporates several operational features, including an Internet of Things based robotic panel cleaning system, a Network Operations Center for real time monitoring, and corrosion protection measures designed for the local environment.

The company estimates that the plant will generate about 47.3 crore kWh of electricity annually. This level of output is expected to meet the power needs of around 1.3 lakh households. The project is also projected to offset approximately 3.4 lakh metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. KPI Green Energy added that around 1,000 jobs were created during the construction and commissioning stages.

The commissioning expands KPI Green Energy Limited’s Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio and aligns with Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity addition plans. The company operates under the KP Group, which is active in renewable energy, infrastructure, and sustainability projects across India.
