KP Energy Limited has commissioned a 2.8 MW wind turbine generator (WTG) under its 28.6 MW wind power project at Vagra in Bharuch, Gujarat, on February 22, 2025, marking the full completion of the project.
The project, developed under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) segment, will supply power to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) at a tariff of Rs 2.43 per kWh.
Earlier this month, KP Energy commissioned a 25.8 MW wind power project at the same location, consisting of 11 wind turbine generators. With the addition of the final 2.8 MW, the company’s total IPP capacity has now increased to 48.5 MW.
India’s wind energy capacity has grown significantly, rising from 1.86 GW in March 2004 and 21.04 GW in December 2014 to 48.16 GW in January 2025.
