Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has identified land for two solar power projects in the Alappuzha and Kasargod districts of Kerala.
The Kasargod project will be developed on approximately 50 acres of land, expected to be acquired soon. The Alappuzha project will be set up on 90 acres of land in Kuttanad, with KMRL currently in talks with the Kerala Forest Department to secure land approval.
Both projects are expected to be completed by December 2025.
The generated power will be used to meet the energy needs of the Kochi Metro and Kochi Water Metro projects.
