Juno Joule Green Energy Private Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Germany’s Select Energy GmbH to co-develop a green hydrogen and ammonia export facility at Mulapeta port in Andhra Pradesh. The total investment for the project is estimated at $1.3 billion.

The facility will be developed in three phases. By 2029, it aims to produce 180,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. This will be converted into up to one million tonnes of green ammonia each year for export.

The partnership includes equity participation, construction of export terminals, and creation of port-connected logistics infrastructure. The project is designed to align with European Union frameworks, including Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin and Renewable Energy Directives II and III.

The project is expected to generate 5,000–6,000 jobs across construction, logistics, operations, and support sectors. Once operational, it could prevent 1.8 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

A long-term offtake arrangement is in place, featuring a blended pricing model. Electrolysers powered by solar, wind, and hydropower will be used, along with a desalination unit to supply high-purity water.

Technology partners include Thyssenkrupp Nucera and KBR Incorporated. Construction is set to begin in 2026. Coordination is ongoing with logistics partners in Germany and the Netherlands to support exports.
