Energizent Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with NHPC Limited on June 25, 2025. The agreement covers a 300 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power project to be developed in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh.
The project was originally awarded in February 2024 to Energizent Power, then a wholly-owned subsidiary of O2 Power Private Limited. The company had secured the capacity by quoting a tariff of Rs 3.49 per kWh in NHPC’s auction for 1,500 MW wind-solar hybrid power projects. JSW Energy later acquired O2 Power, bringing the project under its portfolio.
NHPC had invited bids in October 2023 for the selection of hybrid power developers to set up ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid projects, with or without energy storage systems (ESS), across India. The projects were tendered on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis.
The 300 MW project, to be located across sites in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, is expected to be commissioned within 24 months from the date of PPA signing.
