JSW Energy Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) for developing a 1,600 MW supercritical/ultra-supercritical thermal power plant on a design, build, finance, own, and operate (DBFOO) basis.
The LoA was awarded on February 5, 2025, following the bidding process initiated by WBSEDCL in October 2024.
The project, a new greenfield development, will have a capacity of 1,600 MW (2×800 MW) and will be connected to the State Transmission Utility (STU) network. It will be implemented through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) on a DBFOO basis.
