JSW Energy secures CoC approval for RCRIPL resolution plan

Author: PPD Team Date: November 21, 2025

JSW Energy has received approval from the Committee of Creditors for its resolution plan for Raigarh Champa Rail Infrastructure Private Limited. The company received the Letter of Intent on November 19, 2025, which marks an important step in securing rail connectivity for its 3,600 MW thermal power project.

The approval follows JSW Energy’s earlier acquisition of KSK Mahanadi Power Company Limited, which made JSW Energy the holding company. RCRIPL is the exclusive rail link for moving coal to KMPCL’s plant, making it a key logistical asset for the project.

KMPCL operates a 1,800 MW thermal plant and is building another 1,800 MW unit in Chhattisgarh. Securing RCRIPL ensures dedicated rail infrastructure for the project’s fuel supply needs.

The transaction will be completed after approval by the National Company Law Tribunal. JSW Energy said this strengthens its integrated position in the power sector by securing essential logistics for its thermal portfolio.
