Jindal Power to acquire 1,350 MW Jhajjar Power Project

Jindal Power Limited has entered into an agreement to acquire the 1,350 MW Jhajjar Power Project in Haryana from Apraava Energy. The transaction involves the transfer of all paid-up share capital of Jhajjar Power Limited (JPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Apraava Energy, to Jindal Jhajjar Power Limited, a subsidiary of Jindal Power. 

The acquisition also includes Apraava Renewable Energy Private Limited and Kohima-Mariani Transmission Limited. The deal is expected to close within a month.

Jhajjar Power Limited operates one of India’s first supercritical coal-based thermal plants, located in the Jhajjar district, Haryana. The 1,320 MW facility has been operational since mid-2012, supplying 90% of its output to the State of Haryana and the remainder to Tata Power Trading Company Limited.
