IndiGrid 2 Private Limited, a subsidiary of IndiGrid, has secured the Letter of Intent (LoI) to develop the Transmission scheme for evacuation of power from Ratle HEP (850 MW) & Kiru HEP (624 MW): Part-A.

The selection was made through a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process under the build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) model. REC Power Distribution Company Limited (REC PDCL), which invited bids in September 2024, acted as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for the project.

The project, valued at Rs 12.13 billion, involves critical transmission infrastructure, including:

  • LILO (Line-In Line-Out) of the 400 kV Kishenpur-Dulhasti line at Kishtwar substation (3 km)
  • 400 kV Kishenpur-Samba double circuit (D/c) line (Quad) (36 km)
  • Reconfiguration of the 400 kV Kishtwar-Kishenpur and Kishenpur-Samba lines to form a direct Kishtwar-Samba circuit
  • Installation of switchable line reactors at Samba and Jalandhar ends to enhance grid stability
  • Development of new 400 kV transmission lines connecting Kishenpur, Samba, Jalandhar, and Nakodar

The project was technically approved in the 72nd Northern Regional Power Committee (NRPC) meeting on March 30, 2024. It is expected to be completed within 24 months.
