Hyosung T&D India signs two transmission packages with Bhutan Power Corporation
Hyosung T&D India has signed two project packages with Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC) for transmission infrastructure in Bhutan. The agreements were signed in Thimphu.
The packages cover a 400 kV and 66 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation extension and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) turnkey execution in Bhutan.
The projects mark an expansion of Hyosung T&D India’s transmission project portfolio in Bhutan and are aimed at supporting the country’s power transmission infrastructure.
The company said the agreements reflect BPC’s continued confidence in Hyosung T&D India and the efforts of its project teams. Hyosung T&D India will undertake the turnkey execution of the projects.
The agreements follow a June 2026 tripartite MoU between BPC, Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC) and Hyosung Heavy Industries Corporation, which established a framework for cooperation on Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) system services and technical capacity building in Bhutan. The MoU covered preventive and corrective maintenance of GIS systems, supply of spare parts and technical components, and training and certification of Bhutanese engineers and technicians.
