HPCL Renewable and Green Energy (HPRGE), a subsidiary of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL), has issued a tender for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of three floating solar projects. The projects include a 9 MW solar installation in Jaisalmer, a 14 MW project in Balotra, both in Rajasthan and a 2 MW project in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The deadline for bid submissions is October 15, 2024.

The selected contractor will manage the operation and maintenance of the projects for ten years. Power generated at the Jaisalmer site can be transmitted via intra-state open access or a behind-the-meter system, while the other two projects will utilize onsite consumption through a behind-the-meter approach. All solar modules must comply with the latest Approved List of Models and Manufacturers from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

In June 2024, HPRGE also sought proposals for land and an EHV transmission system package for the development of 600 MW ISTS-connected solar projects across various locations in India.
