Hitachi Energy will provide essential grid connection and power quality solutions for ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia 2 (EA2) offshore wind farm.
The 960 MW project, located 32 kilometres off Suffolk in eastern England, will generate enough energy to power one million UK homes.
The project will leverage Hitachi Energy’s Grid-eXpand system, gas-insulated switchgear, and Grid-enSure power quality solution, featuring the SVC Light STATCOM.
ScottishPower Renewables describes the £4 billion EA2 project as pivotal to the UK’s clean energy mission, complementing the operational East Anglia 1 offshore wind farm.
In a related move, the company announced a $155 million investment in its North American manufacturing operations in September 2024.
