Germany awards 2.27 GW solar capacity in July auction

Germany’s Federal Network Agency has announced results of the 1 July 2025 solar auction for ground-mounted projects and installations on constructions other than buildings or noise barriers.
The tendered capacity was 2,266 MW, while bids reached 2,820 MW. A total of 313 bids were submitted, with 258 awarded contracts for 2,271 MW. Thirty-six bids were excluded.
Successful tariffs ranged from €0.04 per kWh to €0.0626 per kWh, with a volume-weighted average of €0.0484 per kWh, slightly above the previous round’s €0.0466 per kWh.
Bavaria secured the highest allocation with 689 MW from 106 bids, followed by Rhineland-Palatinate with 251 MW from 23 bids and Lower Saxony with 250 MW from 18 bids.
