GameChange BOS opens transformer manufacturing unit in Maharashtra

GameChange BOS, a subsidiary of GameChange Energy Technologies, has started operations at its new medium voltage transformer plant in Taloja, Maharashtra.
The manufacturing facility covers 180,000 square feet and has an annual production capacity of more than 1,800 transformers. The company stated that the unit will strengthen its supply to markets in India, Europe, and the United States.
The plant will allow GameChange BOS to expand its product portfolio within the 0.5-25 MVA range, with voltage ratings up to 69 kV. According to the company, these transformers are targeted at sectors including data centres, renewable power projects, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and large electrification networks.
Andrew Worden, Chief Executive Officer of GameChange BOS, said the new facility supports faster delivery and cost-effective offerings for customers.
The Taloja unit includes advanced equipment, quality testing systems, and streamlined production methods designed to align with international standards.
The Taloja plant follows the company’s earlier announcement in November 2024 that it was nearing completion of a 5,400 MVA transformer manufacturing capacity. GameChange BOS, previously known as GeniusBOS, rebranded in the same year to strengthen its global identity.
The investment comes at a time when demand for transformers is increasing globally due to the electrification of transport, renewable energy integration, and the rise of digital infrastructure such as hyperscale data centres. India, in particular, is seeing strong growth in power equipment demand, driven by government-backed transmission upgrades and renewable capacity additions.
With this facility, GameChange BOS positions itself to participate in both domestic and export markets, aligning with its parent company’s push to supply critical balance-of-system (BOS) components for energy transition projects worldwide.
