Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (Eurus Energy) has commenced the commercial operation of the Ashikawa Wind Farm in Toyotomi Town, Hokkaido. With a capacity of 128.8 MW, this wind farm is part of the larger Dohoku Wind Power Generation Project, which aims to install 107 wind turbines across six wind farms in northern Hokkaido.
Dohoku Wind Farm LLC, a group company of Eurus Energy, has completed the construction of the south section of the Ashikawa Wind Farm. This marks the sixth wind farm in the project, following the Hamasato, Kawaminami, Kawanishi, Kabaoka, and Yuchi wind farms. With the operation of Ashikawa, the Dohoku Wind Power Generation Project now has a total capacity of 434.5 MW.
The Ashikawa Wind Farm features 31 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines, each with a 4.3 MW output. To support the development of large-scale wind farms in Hokkaido, Eurus Energy and its partners established the North Hokkaido Wind Energy Transmission Corporation. All electricity generated by the Ashikawa Wind Farm will be supplied to the Hokkaido Electric Power Network.Â
