Equinor and Polenergia have received the final environmental decision for the Bałtyk 1 offshore wind farm in Poland’s Baltic Sea. The clearance, issued by the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Gdańsk, marks a key milestone ahead of Poland’s 2025 offshore wind auction.
Bałtyk 1 will have a planned capacity of up to 1.56 GW and will be located 81 km off the Polish coast. Power from the project will be transmitted to the Krzemienica substation, which is under development by the Polish Transmission System Operator.
The onshore facilities are set to be developed in the Ustka and Redzikowo municipalities in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. This project follows the earlier Bałtyk 2 and 3 developments, which received construction permits in August last year.
Bałtyk 1 represents the next phase in Equinor and Polenergia’s offshore wind portfolio in the region.
