Enrich signs contract with NTPC for 290 MWh BESS at Simhadri

Enrich has signed a contract agreement with NTPC Limited (NTPC) for a 290 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at NTPC’s Simhadri Thermal Power Station in Andhra Pradesh. The agreement was formalised at NTPC’s office in New Delhi in the presence of senior representatives from both organisations.
The project covers end-to-end BESS installation and integration with the existing thermal power station infrastructure. The scope includes battery systems, battery management system (BMS), energy management system (EMS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), power conversion system (PCS), and inverter-duty transformers. It also involves a 400 kVA substation with bay integration into 33kV switchgear, along with protection, communication, auxiliary systems, and fire safety provisions. Remote monitoring and control infrastructure, along with operations and maintenance (O&M) services, are part of the contract.
Mr. Arun Tripathi (Director – Renewables Business), Mr. Snehasis Bal (Executive Director – Finance), and Mr. Vinay Vyas (CEO – EPC Business) represented Enrich at the signing ceremony.
Mr. Ishwar Chand Mangal, Board Member and Executive Chairman at Enrich, said the project strengthens the company’s association with NTPC and reflects the growing role of energy storage as grids incorporate higher shares of renewable energy.
Mr. Ankit Kanchal, Managing Director at Enrich, stated that the contract marks the company’s entry into the energy storage segment under the leadership of Mr. Arun Tripathi. He added that Enrich has developed BESS EPC capabilities and supply chain linkages with domestic and global partners, and is already executing turnkey BESS projects for private commercial and industrial consumers.
