Energy in Motion Limited (EIM), an associate venture of Ravindra Energy Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EV leasing platform Drivin to deploy around 1,000 heavy-duty electric trucks across India over the next two years.
The partnership aims to build an integrated ecosystem to reduce entry barriers for fleet operators shifting to electric mobility. It combines EIM’s vehicle manufacturing and battery-swapping technology with Drivin’s capabilities in leasing, financing, and fleet lifecycle management.
EIM, which began commercial operations on August 1, 2025, follows a model of selling heavy-duty electric vehicles without battery packs, while offering energy solutions through long-term service contracts. These include swappable batteries and charging infrastructure. Drivin, an OEM-agnostic platform, will integrate these vehicles into its network and provide financing structures and operational planning support.
Commenting on the development, Narendra M. Murkumbi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said the MoU supports EIM’s approach of separating vehicle ownership from energy services using battery-swapping models.
Manav Bansal, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Drivin, said the partnership addresses key commercial constraints in scaling electric trucks by combining vehicle supply, energy infrastructure, and financing into a unified offering.
The collaboration will cover identification of deployment opportunities, alignment on vehicle specifications, delivery timelines, and after-sales support, including maintenance and access to energy infrastructure.
