Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd (DIPL) has entered into a strategic partnership with US-based TS Conductor to introduce next-generation conductor technologies in India. Under the agreement, DIPL will act as TS Conductor’s stranding, marketing, and technology partner for key Indian utilities and EPC contractors.
The partnership is aimed at supporting large-scale grid upgrades, reconductoring projects, and renewable energy integration by offering high-efficiency, advanced conductors designed for modern transmission needs. These conductors feature a carbon fiber core for high strength, a seamless aluminum encapsulation layer, and trapezoidal annealed aluminum strands for improved conductivity.
Currently, DIPL operates two manufacturing plants in Gujarat with a combined annual conductor production capacity of 250,000 tonnes. It is also setting up a new manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes, expected to be commissioned by end-September 2025.
The collaboration allows DIPL to expand beyond conventional conductors like ACSR, AAAC, and ACAR, into a new class of high-performance products suited for future-ready transmission systems. However, the deal does not include joint IP development or manufacturing rights outside India. TS Conductor will not be setting up its own plant in India under this agreement.
Jason Huang, CEO of TS Conductor, stated that the partnership will help meet India’s future grid requirements. Shaishav Shah, Promoter of Diamond Power, noted that the combination of TS’s proven technology and DIPL’s local execution capability creates a strong platform to serve the evolving needs of India’s power sector.
The TS Conductor partnership positions Diamond Power to move beyond commodity conductors into high-performance segments required for India’s evolving grid.
