Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Thailand-based B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited for the joint development of renewable energy projects in Bhutan.

The agreement sets a framework for future collaboration through special purpose vehicles established under Bhutanese law. The focus will be on integrating solar power with Bhutan’s existing hydropower capacity to expand the country’s renewable energy mix.

The partnership aims to promote clean and sustainable energy generation and marks a new phase in Bhutan–Thailand energy cooperation. It paves the way for the joint development of both hydropower and solar projects in the future.

In May 2025, DGPC signed a similar MoU with PTC India Limited to jointly develop hydropower projects. That deal supports Bhutan–India energy cooperation and strengthens DGPC’s trading relationship with PTC.

Also in May, Adani Group signed an MoU with DGPC to develop 5 GW of hydropower capacity in Bhutan.
