Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals has received a letter of award worth about Rs 4.45 billion from the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh for 77.40 MWp of rooftop solar EPC projects under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna.
The contract covers the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 2 kW grid-connected rooftop solar systems for 38,699 scheduled caste and scheduled tribe households. These installations will be spread across the Kovur, Tirupati Rural, Puttur, Chittoor (O), and Chittoor (R) divisions. The projects will follow a utility-led aggregation (capital expenditure) model, and Crompton will also provide five years of operations and maintenance services. The implementation period is around six months.
This award follows Crompton’s recent expansion in the rooftop solar space. In October, the company received a Rs 520 million rooftop solar order in Telangana, marking its commercial entry into the large-scale rooftop segment. In September 2025, Crompton was empanelled by the Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited to design, manufacture, supply, install, and commission off-grid direct and alternating current solar photovoltaic water pumping systems.
