T20 World Cup-winning captain Suryakumar Yadav and cricketer Tilak Varma have taken strategic stakes in TRUZON Solar, a Hyderabad-based solar solutions provider operating under Suntek Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd. The company said the investment adds to its existing group of high-profile backers, which includes Sachin Tendulkar.
The investment reflects growing private investor interest in India’s renewable energy sector as the country expands clean power capacity.
Charugundla Bhavani Suresh, founder and managing director of TRUZON Solar, said the investment highlights both the company’s operational track record and the wider growth of the renewable energy sector in India. He stated that solar energy represents both an environmental responsibility and a national opportunity.
TRUZON Solar was founded 17 years ago and focuses on residential, commercial and industrial solar installations. The company also emphasises after-sales service support. It currently operates across five states—Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh—with a workforce of more than 580 employees and a network of 82 channel partners and service centres.
The company said the latest investment will support expansion into Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha. Telugu actor Mahesh Babu serves as the brand ambassador for TRUZON Solar.
