Jyoti Structures secures Rs 7,412.8 million PGCIL contract for HVDC line

Jyoti Structures Limited won a contract worth Rs 7,412.8 million from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for Transmission Line package TL01 for 800 kV high voltage direct current (HVDC) Bipole Line (Hexa Lapwing) between KPS2 (HVDC) and Nagpur (HVDC) (with dedicated metallic return) – Part-1 for the Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from potential renewable energy zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-V (8 GW): Part A on January 23, 2025.  

REC Power Distribution Company Limited (REC PDCL) is the bid process coordinator (BPC). The project will be implemented through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.

Suzlon to supply 486 MW wind turbines for Torrent Power hybrid project

Suzlon Energy Limited (SEL) signed an agreement with Torrent Power Limited (TPL) to supply, erect, and commission 162 units of S144 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower, each with a rated capacity of 3 MW. 

The turbines will be installed for a 486 MW wind power project under the 450 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Project (TPL-D) in Bhogat village, Kalyanpur taluka, Jamnagar district, Gujarat.

The project, structured in a 2:1 wind-to-solar ratio, aims to supply power to Torrent Power Limited – Distribution (TPL-D). It is expected to be completed within 24 months of signing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) at an estimated cost of Rs 5.48 billion.

Refex signs agreement with Torrent Power for 153.7 MW wind projects

Venwind Refex Power Limited (VRPL), a subsidiary of Refex Energy Limited, signed an agreement with Torrent Solar Power Private Limited, a unit of Torrent Power Limited, on January 24, 2025. 

The deal covers the supply of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) and Tubular Towers for a 153.7 MW wind power project in Karnataka.

The scope includes designing, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, supply, testing, and commissioning of WTGs. It also involves conducting Short-Time Prony Transform (STPT) analysis and Power Curve Verification Testing (PCVT).

VRPL will provide technical and supervisory assistance for casting and erecting WTGs and offer Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services.
