The Union Government has laid the foundation stone for two major transmission projects for the evacuation of renewable energy from the Khavda region in Gujarat.

The first project is the Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from potential renewable energy zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-V (8 GW): Part A. The second project is the Transmission system for evacuation of additional 7 GW RE power from Khavda RE park under Phase-III Part B.

Both projects are part of the national plan to integrate large-scale renewable energy into the grid and support India’s clean energy goals.

In addition to the foundation stone laying, the government also inaugurated the Transmission Network Expansion in Gujarat to increase Available Transfer Capability (ATC) from Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) – Part C.

All three projects have been implemented by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL).

These projects are expected to significantly improve the transmission capacity from the Khavda renewable energy zone, helping ensure reliable power flow across regions and meeting growing demand.
