Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a domestic order to supply a key power equipment package for a major aluminium project.
In a filing to the stock exchanges on February 4, 2026, BHEL said it received a Letter of Intent (LOI) dated February 3, 2026, from Hindalco Industries Limited (HIL). The LOI relates to a boiler turbine generator (BTG) package for Hindalco’s Aditya Expansion Project Phase II at the Aditya Aluminium facility in Lapanga, Sambalpur, Odisha.
The scope of work covers the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, commissioning, and performance guarantee testing of a 2 x 150 MW BTG package. Civil works are excluded from the contract. BHEL is expected to commission the first unit within 35 months and the second unit within 37 months from the effective date of the contract.
While the final contract value has not been disclosed, BHEL indicated that the broad consideration is in the range of Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,500 crore, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST). The company also confirmed that the order is domestic in nature and does not qualify as a related party transaction.
