Bessco Power Private Limited and Renergo Developers have formed a joint venture to develop 1,000 MW of renewable energy projects across India and Nepal over the next 18 to 24 months. The partnership will primarily focus on utility-scale solar power while also exploring opportunities in green fuels and bioenergy.

The companies plan to jointly develop large-scale solar projects as the core of the initiative. In addition, they are evaluating opportunities in compressed biogas (CBG), green hydrogen and green ammonia. India and Nepal have been identified as priority markets due to the ongoing expansion of clean energy capacity in both countries. The partners indicated that the first projects under the venture are expected to advance in the coming months, with multiple development opportunities currently under evaluation.

Rajeev Chhikara, Founder and Chairman of Bessco Power Private Limited, stated that the collaboration aims to combine development capabilities with capital and execution platforms to support the delivery of large-scale renewable projects in the two markets.

Bharat Gulati, Managing Director of Bessco Power Private Limited, said the partnership aligns with the broader energy transition underway in India and Nepal. He noted that the 1,000 MW development target is intended to serve as a base for building a wider renewable platform that could also expand into sectors such as green hydrogen, CBG and green ammonia.

Nishant Goyal, Co-Founder of Renergo Developers, said the venture brings together project development experience with a platform designed to deliver bankable projects at scale. Mayank Rohilla, Co-Founder of Renergo Developers, added that the companies are also examining opportunities in green fuels, including hydrogen, ammonia and bioenergy, alongside their solar development plans.
