BAJEL Projects Limited, formerly Bajaj Electricals Limited, has received a Notification of Award from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for Transmission Line Package TL03.
The contract involves constructing a 120 km, 765 kV double-circuit transmission line (Dausa – Ghiror Part-III) under the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase-IV (Part-4: 3.5 GW) evacuation system.
PGCIL invited bids in September 2024, and the project is expected to be completed in 23 months.
REC Power Distribution Company Limited (REC PDCL) is the bid process coordinator for selecting a transmission service provider through tariff-based competitive bidding.
Transformers and Rectifiers secures orders worth Rs 3.62 billion to supply EHV
In related news, Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited has received orders worth Rs 3.62 billion from various domestic companies, including Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited, KEC International Limited, Avaada Electro Private Limited, Adani Energy Solutions Limited, Torrent Power Limited, and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited.
These orders involve the supply of extra high voltage (EHV) power transformers and related manufacturing work.
Enfinity Global secures transmission connectivity for two GW renewable energy projects
In a related development in the transmission space, Enfinity Global has secured transmission connectivity for its two GW renewable energy projects across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.
These utility-scale solar and wind projects aim to generate power sufficient for 4.7 million households and reduce CO2 emissions by 49 million tonnes annually.
The electricity produced will be supplied to government utilities as well as commercial and industrial customers.
