Bajel Projects Limited has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Tata Power Company Limited for the development of a 220 kV transmission line on monopoles for the Kalwa-Kalyan Pal Line project in Mumbai. The order is valued between Rs 50 crore and Rs 100 crore and is scheduled for completion within 10 months from the date of the purchase order.

The contract covers the complete EPC execution of monopole structures, including foundation works, for the 220 kV Kalwa-Kalyan Pal Line. Monopole transmission structures are increasingly used in urban and semi-urban transmission corridors instead of conventional lattice towers because they require less land, can be erected more quickly, and involve lower right-of-way requirements. These characteristics are particularly relevant in dense urban networks such as Mumbai.

In its regulatory filing, the company categorised the contract as a “significant” order under its internal classification framework, placing it in the Rs 50–100 crore band inclusive of GST. Although moderate in value compared with some large transmission projects, urban transmission developments typically involve operational complexities related to land availability, underground utilities, and traffic management.
