Transmission lines

Bajel Projects Limited has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build a 500 kV overhead transmission line in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, according to a regulatory filing dated April 29, 2026.

The contract, awarded by an international client, covers two contiguous sections of a 500 kV transmission line. The combined value falls under the company’s “Ultra-Mega” category, defined as orders worth Rs 400 Crores and above.

The project forms part of a national grid reinforcement programme in the MENA region aimed at strengthening high-voltage infrastructure to support rising industrial and economic demand. The execution timeline is 11 months from the commencement date.

The company stated that the order does not qualify as a related party transaction and that the promoter or promoter group has no interest in the awarding entity.

Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said the contract reflects confidence in the company’s capability to execute complex high-voltage transmission projects in international markets.

The order adds to Bajel Projects’ international portfolio in the MENA region, where it also operates through a 50:50 joint venture with the Al Sharif Group in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
