Andhra Pradesh approves 250 MW solar plant in Kadapa

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has cleared a 250 MW solar power project at Mylavaram in Kadapa district. The state government has allotted 200 acres to Adani Solar Energy for the project.
Alongside this decision, the Cabinet also approved the Andhra Pradesh Circular Economy and the AP Waste Recycling Policy 4.0 (2025–2030), reflecting a broader push toward sustainability.
According to data from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Andhra Pradesh has an installed renewable energy capacity of 13,488.39 MW as of July 31, 2025. This includes 5,523.28 MW of solar power, of which 5,006.34 MW is from ground-mounted projects and 428.6 MW from rooftop solar. The state also has 4,397.78 MW of wind power, 594.02 MW of bio-power, and 2,810 MW of large hydro capacity.
The upcoming 250 MW project will further strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s solar base, which already accounts for more than 40 per cent of its renewable portfolio.
