Alcazar Energy Partners has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) to develop a 2 GW onshore wind farm in Egypt. The project aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030, focusing on renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
The wind farm is expected to generate clean electricity for more than 1.3 million households while preventing the release of up to 4.7 million tonnes of COâ‚‚ annually. During the construction phase, the project will engage up to 12,500 workers and create 1,170 full-time jobs once operational.
Daniel Calderon, co-founder and managing partner of Alcazar Energy Partners, emphasized the project’s role in supporting Egypt’s energy transition and renewable energy targets. He highlighted its environmental and economic benefits, including job creation and the development of local expertise.
Last month, Alcazar Energy Partners expanded its renewable energy portfolio with the acquisition of rights to 968 MW of projects in Serbia, including the 200 MW Project Celzijus 1 wind farm and a 768 MW pipeline of wind and solar projects.
