Sustainable infrastructure fund Alcazar Energy Partners has signed agreements with RP Global to acquire rights for 968MW of renewable energy projects in Serbia. The deal includes Project Celzijus 1, a 200MW onshore wind farm, and a pipeline of 768MW in wind and solar projects.
Project Celzijus 1, located in the Western Balkans, is set to cost $300 million and create 800 jobs during construction. The wind farm will generate clean energy to power over 31,000 households annually and prevent 426,000 tonnes of CO₂e emissions each year.
The acquisition, part of Alcazar’s goal to build a $600 million renewable energy asset base in Serbia, will be finalized by the end of 2024. Once operational, the projects will collectively produce more than 1,700 GWh of clean energy annually.
