Adani Power Limited has expanded its presence in the nuclear energy sector with the incorporation of Rawatbhata-Raj Atomic Energy Limited (RRAEL), a step-down wholly owned subsidiary, according to a regulatory filing made today.
RRAEL was incorporated on April 20, 2026, under Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Power Limited. The new entity has an authorised capital of Rs 5,00,000, divided into 50,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each, fully subscribed by AAEL in cash.
The company has stated that its objective is to generate, transmit and distribute power derived from nuclear and/or atomic energy sources. No governmental or regulatory approvals were required for the incorporation.
This is the second nuclear-focused subsidiary created by Adani Power within a week. On April 13, 2026, the company incorporated Coastal-Maha Atomic Energy Limited (CMAEL) under the same parent entity, AAEL. The certificate of incorporation for CMAEL was received on April 18, 2026, and the development was disclosed in a regulatory filing dated April 19, 2026.
Adani Power’s entry into the nuclear energy segment began with the incorporation of Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL) on February 11, 2026, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Power Limited. AAEL now acts as the holding company for the nuclear-focused step-down subsidiaries.
Each of the newly incorporated entities has an authorised capital of Rs 5 lakh, comprising 50,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each, fully subscribed by AAEL in cash. The layered structure points to a planned approach to possible nuclear energy projects across different regions in India.
