ACME Solar signs PPA with SECI for 300 MW FDRE project
ACME Solar Holdings Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary ACME Renewtech Sixth Private Limited, has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for a 300 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project backed by 1,200 MWh of battery energy storage capacity.
The project was awarded under SECI’s FDRE Tranche VII – Assured Peak Power tender and is designed to supply four hours of assured peak power exclusively during non-solar hours. The project carries a minimum annual availability requirement of 85%. The tariff discovered under the PPA is Rs 6.28 per unit.
The agreement follows the Letter of Award (LOA) issued on February 10, 2026 under a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process. The e-reverse auction for the project was conducted on February 2, 2026.
ACME Solar said the executed PPA covers 300 MW contracted capacity, compared to the 301 MW capacity mentioned in the LOA, following mutual optimisation of project configuration and implementation plans.
Project configuration
The project will be connected to Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) substations and will utilise ACME Solar’s existing night-time connectivity available in high irradiation regions. The scheduled commencement of supply date (SCSD) for the project is May 28, 2028.
The company stated that the FDRE project is structured to support grid balancing and peak demand management through assured renewable energy supply during non-solar hours.
Portfolio position
Following the latest PPA signing, ACME Solar’s total contracted portfolio has reached 8,070 MW, while the PPA-signed portfolio stands at 6,570 MW. The company currently has 2,990 MW of operational contracted capacity along with around 2.7 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity. Its under-construction portfolio stands at 5,080 MW, including approximately 18 GWh of BESS installations. The under-construction portfolio with signed PPAs totals 3,580 MW.
ACME Solar said its in-house engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) divisions support end-to-end project development and lifecycle management.Â
