ACME Solar crosses 2 GWh BESS capacity in Rajasthan
ACME Solar Holdings Limited has operationalised over 2 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan, taking its total operational BESS capacity in the state to 591.18 MW / 2,031.24 MWh across its subsidiaries.
The company stated that these storage systems support grid reliability by charging during off-peak hours and discharging during peak demand periods. This enables supply-demand balancing and improves overall grid stability.
ACME Solar indicated plans to expand its storage portfolio, with a target of reaching 10 GWh of operational BESS capacity by 2027.
The company also reported a total renewable energy portfolio of 8,071 MW. This includes 2,990 MW of operational contracted capacity along with the 2 GWh of operational BESS. In addition, 5,081 MW of contracted capacity is under construction, which includes around 15 GWh of further BESS deployment.
